Stephen was raised in a small town in South Georgia named Glennville. More famous for it’s football highlights of hall of famer TE Shannon Sharpe, Glennville, stands on a map of just under 4,000 in population. Stephen has had a very humble childhood growing up close to his family to being devoted in his local church. At the young age of only 9 years old, Stephen picked up his first guitar. This blues oriented, rock driven musician naturally played his six string, in fact, it took less than 5 years before Stephen was being recognized through the state of Georgia as a "Master" guitarist. Scholarly and statewide, GA distinguished his ability through the National Travelling 4-H band, Clovers and Company. Aside of representing all of 4-H as lead guitarist, Stephen was able to accompany such musicians as Jennifer Nettles (Sugarland), Hilary Lindsey (Grammy nominated singer/songwriter), and Jedd Hughes (current guitarist for Keith Urban).

Also with Clovers & Company, Stephen graduated his intellect of the guitar in such a way that granted him the sole recipient of the GA State Kitzinger award. Not many guitarist can proclaim a true "master" at their ability. In early 2011 Stephen got his opportunity to not only travel with a GA Country Award nominated artist but permanently take his sound on the road as lead guitarist for Country Rock artist Ben Wells. Since the two’s team-up, the band has shared the stage with artists Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, Justin Moore, Jerrod Niemann, Randy Travis, .38 Special, Rodney Atkins, Luke Bryan and more!  Stephen’s genuine blues licks, and lightning fast fingers have been the "soul" of the sound that has formed the country rocker. Now partnered with Splawn Amplifiers, the unique Modern Country Rock sound, excels to the next level with no limitations.
